JustFourEffect began as Stuart and Tim spending their spare time "jamming". In the autumn of 2006 they decided to expand, and asked Matt and Adam to play alto saxophone on a few of their pieces. Soon, they became permanent members and the group regularly practised increasing their repertoire.
In the spring of 2007, the group began recording their first demo album entitled "...And All That Jazz". This consisted of sixteen tracks; fourteen of which were written by the band; the other two being covers of jazz classics.
As the quartet progressed, the band played performances and gigs at various venues, including at Derrys Department Store in Plymouth for the annual late-night Christmas shopping, at the bar IceWarm in Saltash, and for a Cancer Research UK charity dinner.
JustFourEffect recorded their second album "Boxed In" in December 2007 which is available for purchase from any member of the band for £4. You can also listen to the tracks in the "Music" section above.
The band are currently writing new material (jazz, blues and more rock-style pieces).

Adam Parrish

Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Keyboards, Percussion

Adam began playing the piano and saxophone at an early age and regularly plays First Alto Saxophone for the school Swing Band, touring and playing with them on several occasions to such places as Holland. Adam mainly plays saxophone for J4E but can also keep a steady rhythm on the drums when Tim is required on the guitar. Adam prides himself in his improvisational skills and can be known to whack out a solo whenever required.

Matt Clark

Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Bass and Guitars

Matt began playing the clarinet at the age of seven and achieved Grade 5 before switching to alto saxophone at the age of thirteen. He has played Second Clarinet, Second Alto Saxophone and First Tenor Saxophone for the DHSB Swing Band and accompanied Adam on the various tours and performances. For J4E, Matt plays tenor saxophone on the jazzier pieces and bass guitar on their newer "rockier" songs.

Stuart Ramsay

Piano, Percussion, Keyboards, Vocals

Stuart has always had a love for music and is a talented jazz pianist, writing the majority of the band's earlier songs. He primarily plays the piano but can also drum and sing when required.

Tim Logg

Percussion, Piano, Bass and Guitars

Tim entered the world of music by learning the violin, before switching to the piano and drums. Tim plays drums for the school swing band and J4E but is talented on drums, piano and guitar being able to switch to whichever the current song requires.
